Chapter 1: The Three Bears' Cottage

Once upon a time, in the heart of a vast forest, there was a small, cozy cottage where three bears lived – Papa Bear, Mama Bear, and little Baby Bear. Papa Bear was big and burly, Mama Bear was gentle and kind, and Baby Bear was the most playful and curious little cub you ever did see.

In their cozy cottage, the bears lived a simple and happy life. Papa Bear loved to read his large, leather-bound books by the crackling fireplace. Mama Bear spent her days baking delicious pies and honey cakes. Baby Bear loved to play with his wooden toys and explore the nearby meadows.

One morning, Mama Bear decided to make a special breakfast – hot, creamy porridge. The sweet smell of the porridge filled the cottage and drifted out into the forest. But when they sat down to eat, they found that the porridge was too hot to eat!

Papa Bear declared, “Let’s go for a walk in the forest while our porridge cools down.” So off they went, leaving their cottage with the front door slightly ajar.

Meanwhile, a little girl named Goldilocks was strolling through the forest. As she walked, the smell of the porridge led her to the three bears’ cottage. Peering in through the open door, Goldilocks’ curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to go inside. Little did she know, she was about to get herself into quite a bit of a pickle!

Chapter 2: Goldilocks' Curiosity

Inside the three bears’ cottage, Goldilocks was filled with wonder. She saw the comfy chairs, the crackling fireplace, and the table with three bowls of steaming porridge. Her stomach rumbled with hunger at the sight.

She first tried the big bowl of porridge that belonged to Papa Bear. “Ouch!” she exclaimed, “This porridge is much too hot!” Then, she tried Mama Bear’s medium-sized bowl. “Brrr,” she shivered, “this porridge is far too cold!” Finally, she tried Baby Bear’s little bowl. “Ah,” she sighed with a smile, “this porridge is just right!”

After finishing Baby Bear’s porridge, Goldilocks noticed the three chairs by the fireplace. She tried Papa Bear’s chair first, but it was too hard. Mama Bear’s chair was too soft. But Baby Bear’s chair was just right. Well, it was until she broke it by accident.

Tired from her exploring and eating, Goldilocks noticed the stairs leading to the bedrooms. She thought a quick rest wouldn’t hurt before she continued her adventure. After all, she had never seen such intriguing beds before. The adventure in the three bears’ cottage was far from over.

Chapter 3: The Unexpected Return

While Goldilocks was upstairs, the three bears returned from their walk. They knew something was wrong the moment they stepped inside their home. Papa Bear grumbled when he saw his porridge had been tasted, “Someone’s been eating my porridge!” Mama Bear gasped, “Someone’s been eating my porridge too!” And Baby Bear wailed, “Someone’s eaten all of my porridge!”

They noticed the chairs next. Papa Bear growled, “Someone’s been sitting in my chair!” Mama Bear exclaimed, “Someone’s been sitting in my chair too!” Baby Bear cried even louder, “Someone’s been sitting in my chair and they’ve broken it!”

The three bears decided to check upstairs. Papa Bear roared, “Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!” Mama Bear was shocked, “Someone’s been sleeping in my bed too!” Then Baby Bear squealed with surprise, “Someone’s sleeping in my bed right now!”

And that’s when Goldilocks woke up. She saw the three bears standing there, looking rather cross. She leapt out of bed, rushed down the stairs, and ran out of the cottage as fast as her little legs could carry her. She didn’t stop until she was home, vowing to herself to never enter a house without permission again.

And so, Goldilocks learned her lesson, and the three bears, after a very eventful day, finally sat down to a peaceful meal, happy to be back in their cozy, untouched home.

Moral Lessons of the Story:

  • Respect for Others’ Property: Goldilocks learns the hard way that it’s not okay to take or use things that don’t belong to us without asking. She should have respected the bears’ home and not touched their belongings.
  • Consequences for Actions: Goldilocks realizes that every action has a consequence. When she intrudes into the bears’ home and uses their things, she faces the consequences when they return.
  • The Importance of Asking for Permission: The story also emphasizes the importance of asking for permission before using someone else’s things.

Discussion Points

  • Talk about the bears’ reaction: Discuss how the bears might have felt when they came home to find someone had been eating their food, sitting in their chairs, and sleeping in their beds. This can help children understand the impact of their actions on others.
  • Discuss Goldilocks’ actions: Ask your child why they think Goldilocks went into the bears’ house and used their things. This can open up a conversation about curiosity, the importance of boundaries, and respecting others’ belongings.
  • Discuss what Goldilocks could have done differently: For instance, she could have asked for help if she was lost or hungry, instead of breaking into the bears’ home.

Questions:

  • “How do you think the bears felt when they found out someone had been in their house?”
  • “What should Goldilocks have done instead of going into the house?”
  • “Can you think of a time when you asked for permission to use something that wasn’t yours? How did it make you feel to ask first?”
  • “What did Goldilocks learn by the end of the story?”
